Rutherford Creek – May 2019

In perfect Autumn conditions we paddled Rutherford Creek with the last of the incoming tide.

Seven club members enjoyed the calm & sunny conditions paddling between the banks covered in mangroves, these are the southern most mangroves in Australia.

After paddling 3 kms in 40 mins we turned for home. Plenty of birds were to be seen, a Sea Eagle, Ibis, Herons, Swifts & Cormorants were also enjoying the morning sunshine.

Returning to Cannon’s Creek on the top of the tide we found it very easy to load the kayaks onto the trailer. Lunch & a chat in perfect conditions followed before we packed up & headed home.

Thanks to all,

Dennis
