Expecting a beautiful, calm Autumn day we were thrown against the opposite conditions. Strong Westerly winds of 50 kph, rain showers & thunderous surf pounding in at Mt Martha beach. Ten of our club members & our visitor Emma decided to cancel & instead enjoy sandwiches & a cuppa in the picnic shelter near Balcombe Creek.
It was discussed about the possibility of holding a paddle on the following Saturday if we cancel a paddle, most members agreed.
Thanks to all who attended & to Bob for his directions & web information. Carol did a great job with her sandwiches & Tony boiled the Billy’s in trying conditions.
I contacted David that afternoon to thank him again for our CB radios. We found that they were easy to use & very compact. Thanks Dennis.
