Olivers Hill – November 2017

Eight of our keen club members joined in a lengthy paddle towards Seaford and back again. Bob had his new orange kayak which he launched for the first time. Champagne was poured over the bow with Bob saying the appropriate wishes for “safety for all who sail in her.”
After rounding the Frankston pier in clear calm conditions we headed for the mouth of the Kananook Creek. Many fishing boats were returning after a mornings fishing in the bay.We eventually had all the kayaks back out into the bay and headed for Seaford. We passed the Frankston lifesaving club. They had their inflatable out practicing rescue from deep water procedures.
Everyone enjoyed the lovely sunny conditions and clear water. We paused at 11 am and rafted up as a flight of small planes flew past Frankston marking Remembrance Day. Photos were taken by Bob and Brian had his fishing lure out as he paddled along. A few cormorants were seen and a large number of crested terns. A very enjoyable bar-b-que was held back at Tony & Carol’s place and we thank them for that. Thanks Dennis
