Boggy Creek – July 2017

Our mid-winter paddle was enjoyed by 5 men from our club. We headed upstream from the Riviera hotel under leaden skies. Rob Thurley joined David, Martin, Brian & Dennis. A very cold NW wind was against us as we made our way past the Patterson River Secondary College. There were several shallow areas but it was good to see plenty of ducks & an egret enjoying the creek too. We passed under the freeway bridges & entered Boggy Creek. Brian led the way as far as we could paddle before turning back amongst the reeds & bullrushes. Our return trip was great with favourable wind & current. David decided to take a dip as we climbed out of our kayaks. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable morning. Thanks to all Dennis
