Devilbend Reservoir – December 2017

Bob had the gate opened as we arrived at Devil’s Bend Reservoir for our first club paddle. There were ten enthusiastic paddlers including Barbara’s son Peter from Queensland. We did a clockwise circuit of the reservoir in strong gusts of wind with light rain. Once we reached the shelter of the far side it was very comfortable. Plenty of water plants growing in the clear water meant there must be fish here. There were several others fishing from kayaks. We passed by the dam wall and into the old quarry. Plenty of water birds were seen and the rich variety of plants and trees made it a magic trip. We scored it ten out of ten. Afterwards we enjoyed a cuppa and nibbles. We thanked Bob for his work in obtaining the key and working with the ranger so well. We all agreed to return here again soon. Thanks to all. Dennis
