Balcombe Creek Estuary – October 2016

We met in the crowded parking area behind the Seaford Community Centre. Brian, Tony, Penny, & Dennis  took their cars to Mt Martha. Kayaks were quickly launched in excellent conditions. Plenty of water filled the estuary after recent heavy rains.  Our newcomer Tina paddled strongly ahead with Stephen, Carol, & Brian. It was very good to see Neil paddling again after quite a long while. Ducks, egrets & black cockatoos were sighted. Beautiful scenery with melaleuca & tea trees mirrored in the brackish water. After 30 minutes. We returned along the winding creek to the estuary where we found Tony had the kettle boiling. A lovely spread included sandwiches served on a silver platter. Lyn enjoyed her first paddle after suffering a sore shoulder for some time. This location would be ideal for future paddles even out on the bay if conditions were suitable.
Many thanks to all . Dennis
