Kananook Creek – December 2016

We met behind the Riviera Hotel at 9:30am. Our newcomer Martin had his own kayak on the roof top of his car. Brian had his own kayak but the remaining 5 paddlers used the club kayaks. It was very overcast with a cool SW wind blowing. We set off downstream to the mouth of the Kananook creek. Several white faced herons, ducks, seagulls, swifts and lorrikeets were seen. One family of ducks were herded ahead of us from near Armstrongs Road bridge to the Seaford shops. It was calm, tranquil and beautiful as we made our way down the creek. The rubbish collection barrier is now located near the mile bridge. Tony was at the car park to meet us and Carol had lovely sandwiches and hot drinks for us to share.  Thanks to all for a successful morning on the water. Dennis
