Lysterfield Lake – April 2016

We had 7 keen paddlers at this our second trip to the lake. After meeting early at Seaford we headed off with 2 car loads. Shane was on his second visit with us & Bettina was here for the first time. It was a beautiful morning with just a light breeze over the lake. Our craft were quickly readied & we headed off anti clockwise around the lake. It was good to have our regulars there Penny, Carmel, Carol, & Stephen. We reached the small stream that feeds the lake. Bullrushes & long water reeds narrowed the creek down. A comment was made that it resembled Loch Ness. With the breeze behind us we continued paddling down the western side of the lake to the dam wall. Many seagulls, cormorants, egrets coots & ducks were seen. After just over an hour we returned to find Tony had the kettle boiling for a refreshing cuppa. Thanks to all for a great day. Dennis
