JUNE 2015 PADDLE REPORT
Tony P brought the club trailer to Seaford, parking it near the launching jetty made life very easy for us four paddlers. Carol, Neil, Steve and Dennis headed downstream with the full flow of the water being pumped into the creek from Paterson Lakes. It was a beautiful, calm almost Autumn like day. The water was very clear and flocks of ducks took off ahead of us as we paddled in calm water. It was marvelous to see such an array of birdlife – Royal Spoonbills, White-faced Herons, Cormorants, Wattlebirds and Seagulls. We made great progress on our way down to the Mile Bridge. However after turning upstream it was a different matter. Several shallow sections were really running fast so we had to paddle hard. It took us 45 minutes for the return trip. Discussion was held about the possibility of next month launching from Seaford and paddling to Frankston. Tony could pick us up there. Today was a very successful paddle Thanks for your help Tony !! and thanks to Dennis for his, as usual, interesting report.
