Paddle on Kananook Creek from Seaford to creek mouth  – 11th July 2015

It was an overcast Wintery morning with a cold NW wind blowing. We parked a car near the  Frankston boat ramp for our return trip. Tony drove the trailer with our canoes to the Seaford Community Centre. Our six enthusiastic paddlers were soon geared up and onto the water. Even though conditions were cool it was comfortable going with the flow and with a tail wind blowing. Stephen was well rugged up with beanie and gloves.

Large flocks of ducks were sheltering on the creek. Carol spotted  a beautiful white heron on the creek bank looking for its dinner. Neil and Lyn were enjoying this long trip to the mouth of the Kananook Creek. Joy was paddling strongly at the rear.

In thirty minutes we were approaching the Mile Bridge. Teal ducks and an Ibis were interesting to see.

We reached the Frankston boat ramp in 70 minutes . Tony was able to back the trailer down and retrieve all Kayaks.

Thanks Tony and thanks Dennis for this report.
